80 euro purchasing card 2024: find out how it works, here are the requirements and how to apply.

The program will be renewed in 2024 Shopping card dedicated to citizens aged 65 or over and parents of children under the age of three who will be able to receive a contribution of 80 euros every two months for food and health expenses and for the payment of electricity and gas bills.

Where to submit the application

The application for the Purchasing Card, completely free for those entitled, can be submitted in post offices by filling out the forms published on the website of the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

Beneficiaries who have obtained the electronic card in previous years and continue to meet the requirements will be able to benefit from the contribution without having to submit a new request.

The Purchasing Card program was established in 2008 with the Berlusconi government. In addition to the MEF, the Ministry of Labor and Social Policies, INPS and Poste Italiane are also involved.

Regions and local authorities can also join the program by extending its use or increasing the benefit for their residents. The resources that feed the Purchasing Card Fund are, as required by law, both public and private following donations. The amount disbursed from 2008 until November 2023 is over 2 billion. Approximately 5.6 million citizens benefited from it, with at least one credit per year, including 2 million elderly people (aged 65 or over) and almost 3.6 million parents with children under 3 years of age.

WHAT HAPPENS FROM MARCH 16

From March 16th onwards there are two options: either the government will focus on an extension or we will have to wait for the next round

From 1 January 2024 they will be able to obtain it:

  • parents with children under the age of 3 and a maximum value of the ISEE indicator equal to 8,052.75 euros;
  • citizens aged between 65 and 70 with a maximum value of the ISEE indicator equal to 8,052.75 euros and a total amount of income received not exceeding 8,052.75 euros;
  • citizens in the age group over 70 with a maximum value of the ISEE indicator equal to 8,052 euros and a total amount of income received not exceeding 10,737.00 euros.

Purchasing Card 2024: Contribution for food, healthcare and utility bills

With the 2024 the program is renewed Purchasing Card dedicated to citizens aged 18 or over 65 years old and parents of children under the age of three years which, if they fall within the criteria Isee foreseen for the different categories, will be able to receive a contribution of 80 euros every two months for food and health expenses and for the payment of electricity and gas bills.

It is announced on Mef in a note specifying that the application for the Purchasing Card, completely free for those entitled, can be submitted in Post offices by filling out the forms published on the website of the Ministry of Economy and Finance. Beneficiaries who have obtained the electronic card in previous years and continue to meet the requirements, we read in a note from the ministry, will be able to take advantage of the contribution without having to submit a new request.

Regulatory updates and ISEE limits for 2024

As a result of the regulatory provisions that regulate the Purchasing Cardincome amounts and indicator Isee which regulate access to state contributions, for the 2024are adjusted to the inflation rate Istat.

In particular, starting fromJanuary 1, 2024the maximum limit of the value of the ISEE indicator and of the total amount of income however received are respectively determined as follows: for citizens in the age group of minors 3 yearsmaximum value of the ISEE indicator equal to 8,052.75 euros; for citizens aged between 65 and 70, maximum value of the ISEE indicator equal to 8,052.75 euros and total amount of income received not exceeding 8,052.75 euros; for citizens in the older age group 70maximum value of the ISEE indicator equal to 8,052.75 euros and total amount of income received not exceeding 10,737.00 euros.

In light of these indications, starting from 1 January 2024, for citizens who apply to obtain the benefit Purchasing Card, the new forms with the ISEE and income limits reported above must be used. The forms are available, as well as at Post officesalso on the websites of Inps, Italian post, Ministry of Economy and Finance And Ministry of Labor and Social Policies.
