A lava overflow from the north crater area, associated with modest lava fountains, is present on Stromboli. This is what emerges from the monitoring of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology, Etneo Observatory, from Catania. A similar activity is present at the base of the new mouth of Etna, but the two phenomena are absolutely not connected.

At the moment the front of the lava flow on Stromboli stands in the upper portion of the Sciara del Fuoco. At the same time, the ordinary explosive activity continues without variations to both northern and center-south crater areas. From a seismic point of view, from about 12.30 today the average amplitude of the volcanic tremore has shown a clear increase in its values, passing through less than an hour from the interval of the low values to that of the very high values. There are no significant variations in the occurrence rate and in the amplitude of the Explosion Quakes. The deformation data of the permanent GPS network do not show significant variations.
