Damage huge to the health system and, above all, to oncological patients: this is the balance of the theft of drugs that occurred at the headquarters of the Provincial Health Authority of Cirò Marina, for a total value of beyond 700 thousand euros. This morning the carabinieri of the Cirò Marina company, with the support of colleagues from the companies of Naples Stella, Naples Poggioreale and Torre del Greco, have performed An order for pre -trial detention in prison against a 60 -year -old Neapolitan, deemed seriously suspected of the crime of aggravated theft and continued in competition.

The provision, issued by the investigating judge of the Court of Crotone at the request of the Public Prosecutor’s Office directed by dr. Domenico Guarascio arrives at the end of an intense investigative activity started immediately after the two shots scored last 4-5 and 25 June. The military, through technical activities, the analysis of video surveillance images and the acquisition of testimonies, managed to reconstruct in detail the dynamics of the thefts and to trace the identity of one of the alleged managers.

In particular, it was the identification of one of the cars used to perform the thefts: the vehicle had been hired by the suspect, which was subsequently identified thanks to the analysis of the films acquired, in close collaboration with the carabinieri of the Volla (NA) station.

In the context of the operation, two house and IT searches were also carried out against two other subjects, considered of investigative interest. The investigations, currently in the preliminary phase, continue to identify any further accomplices involved in the illegal trafficking of life -saving drugs.

The 60 -year -old, arrested today in the Neapolitan, will now have to face the guarantee interrogation, during which he can provide his own version of the facts. His guilt, as required by the system, must be ascertained in the context of the process, in full compliance with the principle of presumption of innocence.
