The death of Serafino Congi, which took place in January 2023 for reasons not yet clarified, continues to represent a turning point for the citizenship of San Giovanni in Fiore. Around that drama was consolidated the commitment of the civic committee “Yes (La) health health”, made up of numerous local associations and unions – including ADIFA, Avis, Legambiente Sila, CGIL and CISL – which have long denounced the precarious state of the local health system.
“We do not want to passively witness the reality that surrounds us and the tombstone of the ASP of Cosenza cannot be considered normal”, reads a note from the Committee.
Health emergency and missing answers
The Committee strongly recalls the need for transparency and responsibility by the institutions, in particular on the Congi affair. An appeal is also addressed to the City Council, to approve a unitary document to ask for official clarifications from the ASP of Cosenza, as a gesture of closeness to the family and the whole citizenship.
