First the acquittal of the entrepreneur, now the final release of his company. The Court of Appeal ordered the release of the assets of Francesco Giustra, owner of the “Officine Giustra”, a company operating since 1967 in the metalworking sector. Justra had been implicated with the serious imputation of external competition in the mafia association in the “epicenter” operation, among the most important investigations of the district anti-mafia direction Reggina in the fight against the row-city gangs conducted in recent years. At that time, Justra was accused of being “a reference entrepreneur of the Reggiors gangs” in the interest of which he would have managed the disposal of the “Leonia Spa” vehicular park, a company with municipal participation operating in the context of the management of waste collection and disposal.
The Court of Appeal of Reggio Calabria was of different notice than the investigators, having the acquittal of the accused with the wider formula than all the disputed accusations. Also in the context of the procedure regarding prevention measures, there was a reversal of the confiscation decree that had been issued by the Court, a “Prevention measures” section, against the Giustra company and other goods attributable to him.
The Court of Appeal, in fact, accepted the defensive arguments of the lawyer Marco Gemelli, trusted lawyer of the “Officine Giustra” by arranging the release of the assets up to that moment subjected to ablative bond. Full satisfaction expressed the defense “with respect to the work of the judicial authority which carefully examined the arguments developed by the defense in its reasons for appeal, arranging the return of the assets to those entitled”.
