Although he was already subjected to a precautionary measure, he continued to persecute the former partner, ignoring the ban on approaching the judge. A man investigated for stalking by the agents of the mobile team of the State Police of Vibo Valentia was thus arrested on the afternoon of 29 July, under the coordination of the local Public Prosecutor’s Office.
The complaint and the first measures
The story originated on July 17, when the woman showed up in the police offices, denouncing an escalation of obsessive behaviors by the former partner: insistent phone calls, stalking, stalking under the house and in the workplace. Conducts that had caused her a strong state of anxiety and fear for their own safety and that of family members, so much so that it is forced to radically change their daily habits.
Two days later, on July 19, the Quaestor Ruperti, issued a warning measure against the suspect. On the same day, the UPG agents and SP intervened at the victim’s working headquarters, where the man had been noticed again while slowly passed through the car several times, setting the entrance to the building.
In light of these episodes, the investigating judge of the court of Vibo Valentia has ordered the measure of the ban on approaching the places frequented by the victim to him.
The arrest and the deferred flagrance
Despite this, on the morning of July 29, the man was once again surprised while he was repeatedly passed near the workplace of the former partner. The images of the video surveillance systems, which have documented the repetite themselves of persecutory behavior, stood out.
Thanks to the regulatory changes introduced to contrast violence against women, which allow arrest in deferred flagrance, the agents of the mobile team were able to proceed with the immediate detention of the man, who was conducted under house arrest at the disposal of the public prosecutor on duty.

The commissioner also issued a compulsory offense, which requires him to leave the territory of the Municipality of Vibo Valentia and not return to it for three years, in addition to the application of the preventive measure of the oral notice.
On the morning of July 30, the investigating magistrate validated the arrest and confirmed the precautionary measure of house arrest, against the man already recurrent in violating the provision of the judicial authority.
