The blessing of the memorial cippo placed in Piazza Castronovo is the sign of the beginning of the celebrations of the Messina Ferragosto who will culminate, day 15 solemnity of the Assumption, with the Vara procession. From tomorrow the assembly will begin on the various levels of the 40 rotating angels, of the Christ the Redeemer and the blessing Madonna (or Alma Maria) who make up the votive machine.
It was the chaplain Father Antonello Angemi who bless the memorial cippo in the presence of the commissioner Enzo Caruso and the president of the historical group Vara and giants Franco Forami.
Among the various moments that will precede the procession of August 15, Monday 11 August at 5.30 pm the votive candles made by the artist Forami will be brought by the new church of the Peace of peace in via 24 May to the atrium of Palazzo Zanca where they will remain exhibited until 14; On the afternoon of the eve at 6 pm they will leave to reach Piazza Castronovo for the traditional evening mass under the stone, brought by the Ceri Messina group. Day 11 will also be held the jubilee of the shooters: at 6 pm the gathering in Piazza Duomo, then the entry into the cathedral and at 18.30 the mass, chaired by Father Angemi, during which the shots and new guise of the Alma Maria and the Christ the Redeemer will be blessed.
