Action Calabria against Cannizzaro: “Leali until the end, but serving no one”

The tone of the political clash within the majority that governs the Calabria Region is raised. This time is the regional coordination of action, which with a press release responds hard to the recent declarations of the Deputy of Forza Italia Francesco Cannizzaro, accused of feeding a climate of hostility towards the party led by Carlo Calenda.

“We did not expect to become, from one day to the next, the scapegoat of deeper political choices,” writes Action, which is said to be surprised by the level of “Acredine” shown by Forza Italia. To infuriate the centrist party, in particular, it was the definition of “waiters” aimed at its representatives, an epithet that is sent back to the sender as a sign of “sharp nervousness” and “very low quality of the political level”.

Action claims its role in the regional majority, underlining the loyalty maintained throughout the legislature and reaffirming the intention to continue until its conclusion, despite internal frictions: “Our future does not decide Cannizzaro”, we read in the text, which accuses the blue parliamentarian of arrogance and attempting to marginalize uncomfortable political forces.

The tones become even more heated in the passage in which Action defends their regional councilors, defined as “people who have never lived in politics”, opposed to those who, according to the press release, “remains prostrate for a place in the sun” and comes from “ranks of lacquer”.

The party also complains of never having had the opportunity to contribute operationally to the management of public affairs, despite its organic belonging to the majority. “We only asked a question: why wasn’t we given the opportunity to impact concretely?”, The coordination writes, which claims a council activity among the most “present” and “collaborative” of the last few years.

The press release closes with an evangelical quote, with a biblical passage that would have been mentioned by Forza Italia: “… false christs and false prophets will arise … To deceive, if possible, even the elected …” (Marco 13:22), a clear polemical reference to recent attacks.

The fracture between action and Forza Italia therefore appears increasingly profound, and risks further undermining the internal balance of the Calabrian center -right coalition.
