Following an extraordinary summit on Health in the Minor Islands, chaired by the jurist Francesco Tanasi, National Secretary of Codacons, the Association that presides over, article 32-Aidma (Italian Association of the patient’s rights) and the Sicilian health victims committee, have sent an official note to the Minister of Health Orazio Schillaci, to the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella, to the President of the Senate Ignazio La Russa and the President of the Chamber Fontana, To denounce the serious deficiencies of the regional health system, with particular reference to the minor islands of Sicily.
“Other than healthy health care – declare the three associations – in Sicily, in particular in the minor islands, public health is in disarray: there are no ambulances, doctors, basic garrisons and emergency protocols.
