The smuggling of the landing of 93 migrants took place on 20 July at the port of the graces of Roccella Ionica was identified and stopped. The man is strongly suspended of being the helmsman of the boat that started from the coastal town of Marmaris, Turkey, and intercepted at sea about 70 miles from the Calabrian coast during a rescue operation (SAR) coordinated by the Coast Guard.
The investigation, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor of Locri, was conducted by the agents of the Siderno police station together with the financiers of Roccella Ionica.
