Nino Spirl, formerly acting president of the Calabria Region after the disappearance of Jole Santelli, returns to the political scene in view of the regional elections of 5 and 6 October. After the resignation of Roberto Occhiuto, the former vice -president announced his candidacy for councilor with a post on Facebook, accompanied by an appeal directed to the voters.
In the message, Spirlì invited the Calabrians to “dissolve the reserves early”, underlining the need of the region of “simple and loyal” people and far from clientel logic. “Can we deliver our spontaneous votes, and not those collected by servile gallops looking for a safe place?” He wrote, exhorting a change of pace for Calabria.
The former president also denied the voices on their state of health: “They will tell you that I do not apply because I am sick. In reality, I will be a candidate and I will carry your needs, our needs by hand in institutional buildings. I love you”.
