Cultivation of marijuana in the reggino: 300 plants seized, an arrest

An aerial reconnaissance and a stalking have made it possible to unmask a hidden marijuana cultivation between the dense vegetation of the Reggio mountains. The operation, conducted by the carabinieri of the Cardeto station assisted by colleagues from the “Calabria” heliported Squadron Squadron, was born when, flying over an impervious area of the Cardeto territory, the military identified an expanse of suspicious plants on the slopes of a hill. From that moment, a control service was prepared, during which a man was surprised while actively dealt with cultivation, intent on giming plants. 300 Indian hemp plants were counted on the spot in full inflorescence, ready to be collected. A quantity that, once worked, could have generated a huge profit in the illegal market of drugs. After the sampling of the material, the entire plantation was destroyed, instead the “farmer”, at the end of the formalities, was translated at the Archillà district house.
