The extraordinary services of control of the territory, prepared for the summer period by the commissioner Annino Gargano and put in place by the State Police with the Carabinieri and Guardia di Finanza Arma, continue to affect the areas most frequented by residents and tourists, including the province.
In Taormina, Giardini Naxos and in the main centers of the Ionian coast they affected roads and highways, as well as the most popular meeting places, such as bathing establishments, discos and night clubs.
As part of the control places, 12 fines were raised for violation of the Highway Code, 5 administrative seizures were carried out and a registration certificate and two licenses was withdrawn; Finally, a person was sanctioned as the agents recorded, while he was driving, an alcohol content greater than that allowed by current legislation.
On the sidelines of the services carried out in the Taormina hinterland, 455 people were checked in the last weekend and subjected to 183 vehicles.
