They were intense months for the municipal administration, among the great summer events such as the concerts of the “Franco Scoglio” and, now, the preparations for the Vara, a highlight of the city’s August. It is a period of the year in which many Messina are also lulled by the dream of their football team: the joy of imagining the new bomber under his umbrella or discussing the tactical ideas of the new coach. But in Messina today all this is not possible.
It has been repeatedly remembered that in fact the administration cannot intervene directly in the ACR affair, since it is a formally private asset, but the fans would have liked a position and a few more words, especially by the mayor. “They have been said – replies Federico Basile – but unfortunately the facts count, not only on the football theme. Writing, commenting can serve, but there are procedures to carry on and at this moment the process that sees the ACR with the court does not help the sporting situation, already compromised by the penalty and which needs a corporate seriousness behind it. I am convinced that there must be the strength of an entrepreneur who wants to invest in Messina, in a city that deserves an important investment as in other Sicilian realities, so that a particular situation can be smooth out. They are not only the words that can mitigate the fans’ good “the wrath” and I hope that all those who have also spoken to the mayor in recent months to come forward in a serious way ».
Among those people who in recent months spoke with Basile there is Giuseppe Peditto, the man who is carrying out the speeches with the Court and who awaits the opinion of the judicial commissioner Maria di Rienzo on the custody of the Sports Ramo of Messina, to whom he will then have to follow the last “seal” of the delegated judge: “Peditto presented himself at Palazzo Zanca – continues the mayor – with” the idea of “, to the concreteness of the actions. And I repeat it once again. These are the facts that must carry on the sports sector of a city that deserves great dignity ».
Finally, on the concession of the “Franco Scoglio” to a team that on September 7 should debut right within the friendly walls with the Athletic Palermo: “We will think about the traditional system, the clearance was formally granted as it had to be. Who will have the requirements to use the stadium for the matches, will pay the share of the concession, but in this moment of serious uncertainty this topic is also premature ».
