The military of the Scalea Forestry Carabinieri Unit seized an accommodation facility in the municipality of Orsomarso, falling within the perimeter of the Pollino National Park. When the seals have been appointed after a first inspection carried out with the ASP staff of Cosenza-Prevention Department in the “Costa del Mulino” locality where the restaurant-bar is located.
During the inspection and the investigations carried out, several critical issues emerged. The first in the healthcare field that determined the issue of an immediate first closing measure as they were placed for sale expired and in a bad state of conservation. At the same time, the absence of essential documentation for the administration of food, food and drinks has been ascertained. Subsequent investigations conducted by the military of the forest weapon with the help of the municipal technicians, highlighted the existence of abusive construction works created in the area subject to landscape, environmental, seismic and hydrogeological constraints.
The Forestry Carabinieri Unit of Scalea then proceeded with the seizure of the room and denounced the owner for the crimes of building abuse, environmental and landscape violations, as well as for abusive exercise of the profession.
The owner of the activity was also sanctioned for environmental violations, with particular reference to the illegal management of waste and the lack of traceability of the same.
