Day of tension and disorders in different post offices, caused by the start of the distribution of the inclusion income card. From the early hours of yesterday afternoon, long files of users awaiting the delivery of the social card have generated moments of strong nervousness. And in some cases the situation has degenerated up to episodes of verbal violence, with threats between users and towards staff. The exasperated atmosphere made the intervention of the police necessary, after numerous reports reached the emergency number. Carabinieri also intervened in Messina, in the Pistunina branch.
“Today countless reports have been received relating to the non -communication by the company on the provision of the inclusion card – – says Martina Furceri, SLP CISL secretary of the Palermo coordination – This serious omission has transformed the offices into high risk environments, where workers were the subject of verbal aggressions and threats. All this was fully avoidable with adequate and timely information. To protect the health and safety of each employee, immediate intervention by the company is essential “. In support of local complaints, the intervention of the SLP Regional Secretary CISL Maurizio Affatigato who highlighted the organizational critical issues: “In the midst of the summer holiday period and to be the company, the company – in accordance with INPS – started the delivery of the inclusion income card, causing an exceptional turnout in offices already in difficulty. Despite the lack of staff and the reduced time for the afternoon summer closure, a completely predictable problem was created. The truth is only one: the management of the company is increasingly based on a saving logic at the expense of the quality of the service and safety of workers“.
The union requests urgent measures to guarantee safety, organization and respect in the workplace, so that similar episodes do not repeat themselves.
