Six people were enrolled in the register of suspects by the Public Prosecutor of Paola regarding the death of a newborn baby at the hospital in Cetraro. This is the gynecologist who had the woman and 5 healthcare facilities that followed the birth. The registration by the Prosecutor, directed by Domenico Fiordalisi, is considered a due act, such as to allow the interested parties to appoint their consultants to follow the autopsy on the body of the newborn.
The exam was carried out this morning after the deputy prosecutor Maria Porcelli conferred the assignment to specialists of forensic medicine of the Magna Grecia University of Catanzaro. At the moment, it is learned, the prosecutor hypothesizes the crime of manslaughter, trying to ascertain any medical responsibilities before and during the death of the newborn. In this sense, the results of the autopsy will be decisive in establishing the cause and exact moment of death, if before or after childbirth.
