The state road 106 “Jonica” was reopened in both senses in the stretch included at km 23, in the municipal area of Montebello Jonico (RC), after the temporary closure made necessary following a gas escape. The interdiction to traffic, ordered today in the morning in a precautionary basis, allowed the competent authorities to safely manage the emergency.
The firefighters, law enforcement officers and the Anas teams, who coordinated the safety operations and managed the alternative roads to reduce inconvenience to motorists, promptly intervened on the spot. After the technical checks and restored the safety conditions, the circulation has been restored regularly, ensuring the return to the normal practicability of the state road.
The Anas, however, invites motorists to maintain prudence for driving and pay attention to road signs, especially in consideration of the works and any monitoring activities still in progress in the area concerned.
