It was the presence of a multitude of umbrellas, deckchairs and beds all equal to suspicious the military. From here the control of the naval operational section of the Guardia di Finanza of Corigliano-Rossano arose, which discovered a fictitious beach set up without any authorization in a stretch of free beach of Cariati.
The stretch of beach was presented not delimited by any structure (stakes or rope). However, the arrangement of the equipment there was tending to configure a sort of similar lido/bathing establishment. The military, in civil clothes, pretending to be tourists interested in the use of the beach service, took on information. After the appropriate checks of the case, the investigations made it possible to ascertain the non -existence of a state concession on the affected area. In the area of 1,500 square meters with sea front of about 100 m, about 50 sets of umbrellas were installed with related sun beds and deck chairs arranged on different files. The two subjects were therefore reported to the judicial authority. All the material seized for a value of about 30,000 euros, while the affected area has been completely cleared and returned to the free use of citizens.
