An apparently quiet morning, transformed into an operation of the judicial police who led to the seizure of a huge amount of cocaine and the arrest of a local man. This is what happened today in Reggio Calabria, when the carabinieri of the Rione Modena station, engaged in a normal control service of the territory, noticed a suspicious movement near a house. At the sight of the patrol, the man – with the complicity of his wife – tried to get rid of a bag quickly, throwing him from the balcony of his home in a neighboring land.
A sudden gesture, which however did not escape the military, who observed the scene carefully, deciding to intervene. The subsequent recovery of the bag confirmed the suspicions: inside there were 150 grams of cocaine, already divided into doses ready to be placed on the market, and three precision balances, typical tools of the packaging of drugs. The business did not stop there.
The carabinieri extended the checks to the home and vehicle of man, finding further material useful for the packaging of drugs, a clear indication of a well -organized drug dealing activity and ready to supply different squares of the city. The subject, caught in the act, was arrested for the possession of drugs for drug dealing purposes and, concluded the formalities of the ritual, translated at the “G. Panzera” district house – Argechillà plexus, while his wife was deferred to the judicial authority.
The episode shows how an ordinary patrol and proximity service can also be transformed into an intervention to combat crime, thanks to the readiness and observation capacity of the military of the weapon, committed daily to guarantee the safety of citizens. It should be remembered that the people involved are to be considered innocent until definitive sentence, in application of the principle of presumption of non -guilt.
