An operation to protect the environment and public health completed by the Cotronei carabinieri, who denounced the owner of a mechanical workshop held responsible for illegal conduct in the disposal of hazardous waste.
The investigations have made it possible to document the unauthorized exhaust of exhausted oils and oily liquids from work, poured into a soil adjacent to the structure. At the end of the checks, the entire area, including the shed used for the activity, was subjected to seizure.
The investigative activity was carried out under the constant coordination of the Crotone prosecutor, led by Guarascio.
Further investigations are underway to ascertain any responsibility and evaluate the impact of the pollution produced.
