A gesture of cruelty has found a prompt response in the sensitivity of the agents of the State Police. In the early hours of the morning of September 4, 2025, during the usual control service of the territory, a patrol of the flyers identified a suspicion abandoned on the edge of a peripheral road. Appointed for a check, the agents discovered that inside the bag there were six dog puppies with just under a month of age, visibly tried by the conditions of abandonment, stress and precarious hygiene conditions. The policemen took them safely, lending the first care and guaranteeing them a safe environment, avoiding that they were overwhelmed by the cars.

The competent veterinary office of the local ASL was immediately contacted, which took care of the puppies for the necessary treatments and subsequent management. In addition, some of these have already found a new “family”, having been welcomed by citizens who, voluntarily and with great generosity, have offered them a safe and welcoming refuge.

The episode, in addition to confirming the importance of the control of the territory and the operational readiness of the police, highlights the daily commitment of the State Police also in the protection of animals and in the prevention of crimes against them. Investigations are underway to trace the managers of abandonment.
