A vast fire of vegetation in the municipality of Sellia has engaged the teams of the Fire Brigade of the Provincial Command of Catanzaro until late at night, with staff of the Sellia Marina detachment and the headquarters. The flames, initially flared up in the vegetation, quickly spread to reach a disused warehouse and an illegal landfill of solid urban waste. Thanks to the wind, the stake has threatened some houses nearby.
Over 15 fire brigade units operated on the scene with 4 vehicles and a support tank for water supply. The teams worked promptly to circumscribe the flames, avoiding that they reached the houses, and subsequently provided the complete extinction of the fire front.
