The training meeting aimed at general practitioners (MMG) and Pediatricians of Ibera chosen (PLS), which recorded a large participation of professionals, took place today in Messina today. The initiative is part of the path wanted by the general manager of the ASP of Messina, Giuseppe Cuccì, together with the strategic direction, with the aim of spreading the culture of prevention and contrasting inequalities, guaranteeing the right to health of all, especially of the most vulnerable.
The day was opened by the institutional greetings of the President of the Order of Medici, Giacomo Caudo, who invited the general manager of the ASP of Messina, enthusiastic about the perfect organization of the event, then brought his greetings the provincial secretary Fimmg, Aurelio Lembo, the president Ado, Francesca De Domenico, the mayor of the metropolitan city of Messina, Federico Basile, the member of the commission VI Health and health services, Giuseppe Galuzzo.
The scientific relations entrusted to the referents of the project, Giuseppe Ruggeri and Eliana Tripodo, in Rosaria Cuffari, who presented the activities on oncological screening, and to Antonina Santisi, who illustrated the principles of motivational counseling, followed.
The intervention of Dr. Eliana Tripodo, who illustrated the PL11 project, born in the regional plan of Prevention 2020-2025, is particularly significant. “The PL11 project-explained Tripodo-has the aim of promoting health in places of life and work, in particular in schools and penitentiary institutions. They can become real prevention antennas, helping to recognize early risk factors of cardiovascular and chronic diseases, providing information on lifestyles and facilitating the connection with schools and institutions in cases of greater fragility “.
The intervention also recalled the need for an One Health vision, which recognizes the inseparable link between human health, environment, social relationships and education:
“We can no longer think of health as an isolated asset from the context in which we live. Recent data on suicides in prison are an alarm bell that we cannot ignore. Effective prevention passes only through integrated policies”.
The conference ended with a clear message: prevention must not be considered a cost, but a cultural and social investment, capable of building a healthier, conscious and solidarity community.
