The evening blitz of the environmental department of the municipal police along the panoramic route of the Strait, near the Eden Park complex. The agents discovered a pile of advertising posters replaced and then abandoned behind a hedge, near five large posting systems.

According to what was published in a post by the Councilor CityoRoberto Cicala, the posters would be attributable to three different companies that manage the advertising spaces. The intervention made it possible to identify the abandoned material: in the next few hours the tax office and the advertising service will trace the managers and to notify the sanctions.

“We had said it and we did it – stressed Cicala – it is necessary to respect the city. Due to the few, the image of Messina and the correct work of citizens and businesses that give the waste in a regular basis cannot be damaged”.

The abandonment of waste is a criminal offense: in addition to the sanctions, which today reach up to 18,000 euros, the offenders risk ending up in court. The commissioner announced that he will ask the Mayor to allocate the sums collected by the fines to exemptions or reductions of Tari for families in economic difficulty.

A clear signal, that launched by Palazzo Zanca, against urban degradation and for the protection of the city decorum: “We do not give up – reiterated Cicala – it is better that you change you”.
