The boom generated by new flights and by the privileged relationship with Ryanair is certainly a result achieved by the Region and Sacal. Record numbers for Calabria with 3.6 million passengers in 2024 and a growth of +35% in 2025. But can the system hold for a long time?
B as “reclamation”
The law, voted in the regional council, is of December 2023, which from the dissolved 11 consortia creates the new Calabria remediation consortium. A “revolution” strongly desired by the center -right to be judged in the long run.
C as “Cuba”
The idea of Cuban doctors is from Occhiuto. And without a doubt he saved the Calabrian health with the disaster. Some recent defection has rekindled the controversy: for the center -left “the illusion of Cuban doctors is yet another patch on a narrow system”.

Many, actually, have been caught but certainly is not enough to stop a phenomenon that places our region among the most affected. True, the regional plan goes well beyond drones, but the center -left has no doubts: “the” revolution “is denied by the Ispra data”.

A, Arec, will take care of energy; the other, Redigit, of the regional integrated information system. These are the two companies created with the vote of late March by the Regional Council. Wanted from the center -right, now they take the first steps.

School, university, professional paths: the future goes from an extra gear on this front. And the slogans are not enough.
G as “government”
Inevitably the paths of the Region also pass from the choices of the national government. Occhiuto has often asserted his weight in the center -right, not pulling back in the moments of clutch (read differentiated autonomy).
H as “hotel”
The private initiative was in some cases supported by politics (read public notices for supporting the adaptation and enhancement of accommodation facilities). However, the numbers still say that there is so much to do because tourism fully expresses their potential.

IrRICAL is the creature of this legislature for the unique management of waste and water resources. Again, the perspective is long -term.
L as “work”
The symbol photo is last March: Occhiuto, visiting the Calabrian offices of Rende and Crotone, meets the workers of the former Abraham Customer Call Centers relocated to Konecta and engaged in the dematerialisation project of the medical records, conceived by the Region. The route – triggered by the reduction of TIM’s volumes – ended positively, but it was hard.
M as “sea”
The eternal problem of purification is always at the center of the debate. The region declared war at 360 degrees, but rejection, with inevitable controversies, come from Legambiente.
N as “‘ndrangheta”
In the “Calabrian” alphabet, unfortunately, it cannot be missing. Politics ask for strong responses. And concrete. Starting from the applications.

For the realization of the new hubs, the government has ordered yet another commissioner, while the exit from the one on the health deficit is a “flag” of Occhiuto. The goal has not been reached: is the last walk really missing? Certainly the recovery on the Lea and the reconstruction of the former oral budgets are a success of the outgoing governor.
P as “port”
Gioia Tauro leader in the Mediterranean is not a slogan, but the reality of numbers. Occhiuto bets, for the main pole of the region, also on the regasifier (and cold plate), opposed by the center -left. And there is discussion of the steel policy, however linked to the choices of Taranto.
Q as “when”
High speed rail and modernization of the 106: there are no projects and, in part, funding. We only work on some sections and the unknowns are enormous. When are the final answers?
R as “reforms”
The double modification of the institutional impaling of the region imagines by the outgoing majority remained in half. If on the one hand Palazzo Campanella reintroduced the councilor “alternate”, on the other he never voted for the “roof” to the number of assessors outside the Council.
S as “garbage”
The mountains of waste are a sad memory. The problems remain, but giant steps have been made on the disposal of garbage.
T as “trainees”
The new governor will have to definitively close the match of the stabilization of inclusion trainees, now fundamental in local authorities. Few so far the municipalities that have joined the platform established by the Region to plan a path that remains complicated.
U as “last”
Last Chance, last call, last opportunity: today the future of this region is written. Anyone who will govern since October has clearly clear: something has already changed in general perception, but Calabria is tired of being last, seen as the “Cinderella of Italy”.

In terms of image, the Region has invested a lot. The end -of -year -old rai year nights in Crotone and Reggio, just to mention two examples, have left their mark. But will it be true glory?

The single Zes wanted the Meloni government, but the development strategies of the territory are linked to its real functioning. Is it possible to row everyone in the same direction and make a system that seems to be jammed?
