A long procession of about two hundred motorcyclists reached Sunday San Marco d’Alunzio for the fifth edition of the Motorcycle for lifepromoted by the IRCCS Neurolesi Centro “Bonino Pulejo” of Messina and dedicated this year to the young mother Alessia De Domenico. The event started from the Piedmont hospital with the blessing of the helmets given by Father Roberto Currò. In the Nebroideo village, after the Holy Mass in the Mother Church, the conference took place The culture of donation: a gesture for lifein the presence of the health authorities and the mayor Filippo Miracula. The most touching moment was the intervention of Alessia’s mother, Tommasa Piciollo, who recalled the choice of the family to donate the corneas of her daughter: “think that her eyes still see the light gives us comfort”. Emotion even when the sister, the journalist Silvia De Domenico, read a verse of Eyes of hope by Eros Ramazzotti, song symbol of the event. Prizes and awards were delivered to the healthcare personnel and to the participating motorcycle clubs: Strait of Messina Chapter, Pirates Messina, Punishers Messina and Pantere dell’Etna. An initiative that, once again, has combined passion for two wheels and commitment to spread the culture of donation.
