The Omri Foundation (order of merit of the Italian Republic) continues its consolidation and growth path, strengthening the scientific and institutional structure through the adhesion of figures of high academic profile, protagonists of research and university governance in Italy.
In this context, the entry into the foundation of Professor Giovanna Spatari, rector of the University of Messina, whose contribution joins that of numerous Italian university teachers who share the founding mission of Omri is placed in the foundation of Professor: through the ethics of merit, public responsibility and scientific knowledge, the well -being of future generations.
Among the members of reference among the bodies of the Foundation there are: Professor Paolo Mancarella, former Rector of the University of Pisa, currently president of the Provincial Committee of Pisa of the Omri Foundation; Professor Pietro Pietrini, full professor of Clinical Biochemistry and Clinical Molecular Biology, professor of the IMT School High Studies of Lucca (of which he was also rector) and president of the final committee of the Foundation for neuroscience applied to individual and collective well -being; Professor Fabio Beltram, former director of the Normal School of Pisa, member of the Foundation’s Scientific Committee.
These personalities are accompanied by an interdisciplinary network composed of hundreds of academics and researchers from numerous Italian universities, engaged in the enhancement of the excellence of the university system and in promoting civic, scientific and institutional commitment.
Professor Spatari, doctor and academic, is the first woman at the helm of the University of Messina, an university in which she has taken the entire training and professional path. Specialist in Hematology and Labor Medicine, he is ordinary professor and Medical Director at the Aou “G. Martino”, as well as having directed degree courses, departmental structures and clinical-didactic activities.
His research activity has developed mainly in the sectors of the prevention of professional risks, the promotion of well -being in the workplace and the protection of health of working women. At the same time, he held positions of national importance: President of the Italian Society of Labor Medicine (2019–2024), member of the Inail technical-scientific committee, expert in Ministerial Tables on Health and Security, as well as Crui delegate for gender policies.
The adhesion of the Spastari Rector represents a further step in the path of the Omri Foundation towards the strengthening of the scientific and academic skills necessary to support its cultural and social mission: to build, through the authority of knowledge, sustainable models of human and civil development, oriented to the care of human capital and the quality of life of future generations.
