Everything is ready for the first edition of the Cultural Festival “Stories and reflections – Empowerment of people and communities”, organized by the Contemporary Art Study Center Gianfranco Labrosciano of Cosenza, which will take place in Rende.
From Friday 12 to Sunday 14 September, the Centro Studi of Contemporary Art will create a series of events, exhibitions and meetings dedicated to conquering self -awareness and control over its choices by putting the language and communication aimed at becoming the center of conceptual gravity to be contrast with violence at the center of this path, with particular attention to gender violence.
The Festival is financed by the Calabria Region through the PAC 2014/2020 funds – Action 6.8.3 “Cultural events 2023”.
The program will open on Friday 12 September, at 10.00 with the community languages event. Urban trekking in the historic center of Rende edited by divine itineraries, a journey into the ancient makes, to discover their secrets and mysteries, returning to lay their eyes on artistic, architectural and landscape beauty, of which you risk losing cultural awareness. A unique opportunity to discover the language of the places and communities that live them.
On Saturday 13 September the Festival will raise the Alt Art Park of Art at its location: inside the structure “Women’s looks” will be inaugurated, photographic exhibition of the artist of the film and director Ivana Russo. The exhibition that can be visited until September 29, tells the female universe through the power of women’s gaze.
Also the Alt Art Park of Art will host, starting from 09.30, three talk dedicated to the language of gender -based violence.

The work will introduce the lawyer Mariuccia Campolo, president of the Women on the way association.
The Panel Antonella Veltri, former president of the National Network of the Anti -violence Centers, women on the net against violence – to say, and a member of the “Roberta Lanzino” anti -violence, will modulate.
The speakers are experts in the national network – women on the net against violence. During the event, experts will share fundamental contributions on languages, narrative and strategies to contrast violence against women.
Sunday morning will be dedicated to learning and discovery of words related to the concept of testimony, with the construction journalism laboratory: to contrast violence against women through language, edited by Nadia Somma and Stefania Rossi, preceded by the presentation of the Lea Melandri archive – journalist, activist and essayist – with Anna Petrungaro and Angela Azzaro, always at the Alt Art Park from 10.30 to 17.00. The opening of the archive, rich in iconic material and with great cultural value in the form of testimony, will be introduced by Mariuccia Campolo.

The stories resulting from laboratory work will be exhibited in an exhibition that will take place from 14 to 20 September, at the Alt Art Park of Art.
