Four municipalities of the Cardioprotetti and defibrillated plain thanks to the synergy between institutions, associations and entrepreneurs. In the awareness of the importance of prevention, to improve public safety and health in 4 centers of the plain, the project promoted by the “Polistena Bructium” Lions Club of President Cesare Laruffa was presented. At the headquarters of the association, in the confiscated building of the chain district, the project was illustrated which provides for the installation of 10 defibrillators in Polistena, and 3 in the municipalities of Candidoni, Scido and Terranova Sappo Minulio. As Liruffa explained, “all this was possible thanks to the availability of entrepreneurs, economic operators, professionals, banking institutions, who have contributed with a spirit of service and love to the communities”.
As the cardiologist Alessandro Cannatà, partner Lions, cardiovascular diseases were recalled are the first cause of death in the world. The probability of survival increases if cardiopulmonary resuscitation is carried out and the defibrillation promptly, the scarce presence of defibrillators in the territories and citizens sensitized and formed, limit the immediacy of first aid.
