As part of the prepared and targeted judicial police services aimed at preventing and combating the phenomenon of trafficking and dealing of narcotic substances, the State Police, on the morning of 16 March 2026, arrested a man living in the municipality of Mileto, for the crime of possession for the purpose of dealing of narcotic substances, such as hashish.
Details of the operation and house search
The policemen of the Flying Squad of Vibo Valentia, with the help of the canine unit of the local Police Headquarters, have, in particular, concentrated their judicial police activities in the aforementioned town by carrying out a personal and local search of a person residing there.
The search activity, also extended to another house owned by the man, made it possible to find, well hidden inside a sofa bed, several wrappers containing narcotic substances of the hashish type with a total weight of approximately 130 grams.
Seizure of evidentiary material and validation of the arrest
Furthermore, inside the other rooms, two precision scales and material for packaging the narcotic were found and seized, symptomatic elements of an activity aimed at selling the substance found.
At the end of the investigations, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Vibo Valentia, the man was arrested for possession of narcotic substances for the purpose of dealing, a measure subsequently validated by the competent Judicial Authority.
Execution of detention order in Soriano Calabro
Furthermore, on 18 March 2026, the agents of the Flying Squad of Vibo Valentia carried out an arrest order, issued by the Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Pavia, against a man of Italian nationality, resident in the municipality of Soriano Calabro.
The man, definitively convicted for the crimes of resisting and insulting a public official, was tracked down by the police at his home and, after the formal acts, was accompanied to the Vibo Valentia prison.
