Italvolley in Reggio and Messina to prepare for the next European Championships

The national team coached by Fefè De Giorgi, winner of the last two editions of the World Cup, will play friendlies on both sides of the Strait in view of the next European Championships.
Fipav’s announcement arrived yesterday and was welcomed with satisfaction in the two cities. The friendlies will be played not only in Reggio Calabria and Messina but also in Naples, Modena, Turin and Milan.
The first match is set for Wednesday 26 August when the national team will play at 9pm at the “PalaCalafiore” against Cuba. Two days later, in Messina (8pm), the match against the Cubans will be repeated, while on Sunday 30 August, at 9pm, again in Messina the Azzurri will face Brazil. The preparation of the selection which has among its stars Giannelli, Michieletto and the Rossonese Lavia, will begin on May 11th.
The first friendly matches will be in Cavalese (Trento), against Turkey, in Verona against Belgium and again against the Turks in Bergamo.
There is also a parenthesis in Canada for the Nations League, in the city of Ottawa, against France, Germany, Turkey and the USA, before returning to Italy and meeting in Trento for the friendly match against Argentina.
In the European Championship qualifiers, Italy will face Sweden, Greece, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Slovenia.
