In recent days, the Local Police of Reggio Calabria has carried out numerous activities in the sectors of intervention of specific competence, using all the specialist components of the Corps.
In particular, following a targeted service carried out as part of the national and transnational focus ‘Ndrangheta project, in the Arghillà area, two people were arrested because they were caught in the act of committing the crime of aggravated theft of electricity. In the same service, which also benefited from Enel, Sorical and Aterp technicians, three uninhabited and partially vandalized real estate units were identified and entrusted to the public manager (Aterp).
On the urban decor front, the fight against the illegal abandonment of waste continues unabated, which has made it possible to identify multiple offenders, including numerous owners of commercial establishments. Furthermore, in the ration area, in the northern area of the city, a street vendor was identified who was illegally offering baked goods for sale. In addition to the seizure of the goods (about 20 kg of bread), a heavy fine was also imposed due to the precarious hygienic conditions of the food on sale crammed into the bonnet of a car not suitable for this purpose.
For those reported, the presumption of innocence applies until a final sentence has been reached. The services will also continue in the next few days.
