There is also a political clash over the restoration of legality in the Giovino area. The ordinance with which the mayor Nicola Fiorita ordered the eviction of a public area which had been illegally occupied for many years by some rides, attracted mixed reactions. The area, which until three years ago was owned by the Province, was sold to the Municipality to create the PalaTennis, a project born under the Abramo administration. The controversy was sparked by a post on social media by Luigi Levato, Forza Italia city councilor, who publicly expressed support for the carnies who were the recipients of the ordinance.
