In the election campaign, now, anything goes. An unwritten rule that inspired the hilarious gag of the mayoral candidate – and current mayor – of the Municipality of Campana, an area located in the heart of Sila Greca. Yes, because Agostino Chiarello started one of the most classic pre-election rallies by relying on irony: he wore Pinocchio’s nose, mimicking the movements of the puppet loved by everyone. In the background the inevitable soundtrack of Luigi Comencini’s masterpiece (1972) with Nino Manfredi in the role of Geppetto. A sketch that took shape amidst the applause and laughter of the public at the rally: “Hello Campana! I’m the puppet mayor, Pinocchio! After many years of occupying this chair – yes, the one I warmed up, more than anything else – I finally realized something: I didn’t do practically anything! Indeed, to be honest, I took advantage of the patience of the people of Campania. And so I can only thank you, Campana, for what, despite everything, you have given me”. Then, the curtain fell and the real rally began.

The race for the mayor’s seat

The outgoing mayor presented the list “The roots and the wings” and he will face Giacinto Parrotta, at the head of the list “Bell Project”.
