The contracts of 44 former Social Inclusion Trainees, now included in the workforce of the Metropolitan City of Reggio Calabria with partial permanent contracts, were signed at Palazzo Alvaro. The ceremony took place in the presence of the new metropolitan mayor Francesco Cannizzaro.
Before the event, through a story published on social media, Cannizzaro had claimed the regulatory path that allowed the result to be achieved.
«I am much happier because this stabilization can take place thanks to the entire regulatory structure that we have created in Parliament in recent years. Do you remember the famous interns who, thanks also to the Calabria Region, are stabilizing themselves in all the institutions of Calabria?. Well yes, this morning we will do it in the metropolitan city. Thanks to all the rules, to the amendments bearing my signature which we have approved in Parliament in recent years, thanks to the synergy with the president of the region Roberto Occhiuto, who made, let’s say, the funds available and this morning also for a matter of courtesy I wanted to invite the outgoing deputy mayor Versace to attend this ceremony who was the one who followed the entire last phase. So it’s a beautiful day that starts very well and I’m very, very happy. Have a good day everyone.”
The ceremony at Palazzo Alvaro
In the presence of the metropolitan mayor Francesco Cannizzaro, the former acting mayor Carmelo Versace, the secretary-general manager Umberto Nucara, the managers Domenico Crupi and Fortunato Battaglia and the staff of the Human Resources Sector, the new manager of the Financial Services Sector Maria Vincenza Salzone and the IT engineer expert in Cyber Security Fabio Macheda, assigned to the Digital Innovation Sector of the Metropolitan City of Reggio, also officially signed Calabria by the Social Cohesion Department of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers until 2029.
The satisfaction of the metropolitan mayor
On the sidelines of the ceremony, Francesco Cannizzaro thanked the former acting mayor Carmelo Versace and the entire bureaucratic apparatus of the Human Resources Sector for the work carried out.
«I am particularly happy – he stated among other things – because this is my first official exit as metropolitan mayor inside Palazzo Alvaro and it couldn’t have started better than this: the definitive entry into the Authority of many new stabilized workers who have already demonstrated in practice that they can be an added value for many sectors and who we expect will be able to actively contribute to the objectives we have to achieve. Arriving at this result, with the help of amendments, was no small feat; a tiring and not at all obvious process, which also had to overcome prejudices, as well as various technical obstacles. Today, therefore, we can finally consider ourselves satisfied and happy.”

«I thank Mayor Cannizzaro for having started and gradually accompanied the process that led to stabilisation; a result that is the fruit of a solid institutional synergy between the Metropolitan City and the Calabria Region, which began with the then vice-president Giusi Princi and continued with the councilor Giovanni Calabrese, and guaranteed by the constant attention of president Occhiuto. Today is an important result for which we can all rejoice together, with the hope that it is only the beginning of a new, fruitful professional path for everyone.”
