Bars, sticks, straps and even the explosion of a paper bomb in the public street. There is this heavy scenario behind the six “out of context” Daspo measures issued today by the Catanzaro Police Commissioner against as many fans of the football clubs ASD Sambiase 2023 and Vigor Lamezia Calcio 1919.

The prevention measures, notified by the Anti-Crime Police Division, will have a duration ranging from one to five years. The information-investigative activity, conducted in synergy by the UIGOS of the Lamezia Terme police station and the NORM of the Carabinieri, made it possible to close the circle on the serious disorders that broke out on 6 April 2025 on the occasion of the derby between the two teams.

That day, a violent brawl involved around 35-40 people, triggering panic among passers-by before the decisive intervention of the police and carabinieri. Thanks to the detailed analysis of the city’s video surveillance systems, the investigators managed to identify today’s six recipients of the measures.

Since it concerns Daspo “out of context” – the tool introduced by the Security Decree Bis which targets the perpetrators of serious crimes even if committed outside the stadium -, the access ban will concern all sports facilities in the national territory and in the European Union for every level and category of football.

For four of the six ultras, already burdened by specific precedents, the investigating judge of the Court of Lamezia Terme also validated the five-year signature obligation with the Carabinieri Company, to be fulfilled in conjunction with the Sambiase and Vigor Lamezia matches, both home and away. The notifications were carried out between Lamezia Terme and the Bologna Police Headquarters.
