Stromboli, water bomb on Ginostra: damage and inconvenience

Ginostra wakes up once again submerged in mud after a violent water bomb. Ninety minutes of rain were enough to bring the small village of Stromboli to its knees again, despite the safety measures carried out in recent years. The toll is heavy: flooded torrents, debris and water have invaded the entrance to the town, reaching the municipal road up to the port area. The fury of the water also destroyed the containment network installed in the Mastro Giovanni area to mitigate the risk of landslides.

Damage also occurred in Pertuso, where some shacks and several boats were hit. Once again, bad weather puts the spotlight back on the fragility of the territory and the need for structural interventions capable of withstanding increasingly extreme meteorological events.
