Having submitted the request for repechage to Serie D on the first available day and now waiting for the procedure to follow the defined path, the Messina management will focus on the structural-sporting part.
As regards the first team, the development of the project now revolves on Maurizio Pellegrino, an experienced and powerful figure chosen in the role of sporting director. The new sporting director was in the city in recent days for an initial visit to get to know the environment in which he will have to operate, he spoke with the managers and also visited the “Celeste” stadium which could once again become the home of Messina (but not only) in the next championship. He should now return between Tuesday and Wednesday to continue the work. Specifically, we will focus on the organization of the training camp that the company has established will take place in Cascia from July 20th: it will obviously be necessary to define the details between logistics and other aspects such as medical visits. Clearly, an updated “module” that will have to take into account the different needs of the athletes who will leave for Umbria.
Coach question
A general agreement has been reached with Alfio Torrisi, which however should be put down in black and white only after the (two-year) contract still in place with Vincenzo Feola, coach of the relegation to Eccellenza, is resolved. The Campanian coach will be given severance pay which will determine the early conclusion of the disastrous adventure on the shores of the Strait: an agreement is close but in this case too it will have to be ratified. It is presumed in the next few days.
