It was tabled this morning by the hon. Giuseppe Lombardo the South list Call North Basile for the election of the Council of the Metropolitan City of Messina, scheduled for Sunday 27 July 2026. The filing took place within the deadlines set by the legislation, which allow the presentation of the lists until 12 noon today, Tuesday 7 July. There will be 1,271 people entitled to vote, including mayors and municipal councilors of the 108 Municipalities of the Metropolitan City of Messina, called to elect the new Metropolitan Council through the weighted voting system, divided into six demographic bands based on the population of the respective Municipalities.
The Sud Gioca Nord Basile list is made up of fourteen candidates, an expression of different territorial realities of the province:
Paolo Alibrandi – municipal councilor of Messina;
Carmelina Bambara – municipal councilor of Taormina;
Alessia Bonanno – municipal councilor of Patti;
Silvia Bosurgi – municipal councilor of Messina;
Mario Briguglio – municipal councilor of Scaletta Zanclea;
Franco Mario Coppolino – municipal councilor of Milazzo;
Giuseppe Crisafulli – municipal councilor of Milazzo;
Lorenzo Italiano – municipal councilor of Milazzo;
Carmelo Lo Monte – mayor of Graniti;
Nadia Rivetti – municipal councilor of Rodi’ Milici;
Antonino Russo – president of the municipal council of Lipari;
Flavio Santoro – municipal councilor of Naso;
Lucia Scaravilli – municipal councilor of Acquedolci;
Daniela Zirilli – municipal councilor of Villafranca Tirrena;
