The municipal council of Rende has given the green light to the project for the complete modernization and redevelopment of the 11-a-side football sports facility in Villaggio Europa, nominating the intervention for the Sport and Suburbs 2026 national tender. The resolution, approved on 22 June and declared immediately enforceable, marks a decisive step for the regeneration of one of the most important sports facilities in the city.
The intervention, with a total value of 997,086.44 euros, aims to transform the Villaggio Europa pitch into a modern, safe, accessible facility that fully complies with the standards of national competitive activity. The Council confirmed its willingness to participate in the tender, which finances works aimed at the redevelopment of sports facilities located in peripheral urban areas, with clear objectives: reducing social hardship, improving urban quality, increasing safety and promoting competitive sport.
