Jasmine Paolini’s journey at Wimbledon, the third Slam of the current season on the grass of the All England Club, ends in the quarter-finals. The 30-year-old Tuscan, number 17 in the world and thirteenth seed, lost 6-3 6-2 on the Center Court to the Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk, number 13 WTA and 12 on the scoreboard.

Paolini out in the Wimbledon quarterfinals

For Paolini, the second semi-final in the London Major thus fades after having reached the end in 2024, then beaten by Barbora Krejcikova in the last act. However, the 24-year-old Ukrainian equaled her best result in a Slam, capable of reaching the semi-final also at the last Roland Garros, where she was then beaten by the future champion Mirra Andreeva.

Kostyuk now aims for the final

Kostyuk will now try to push herself to the final as long as she beats one of Linda Noskova and Elise Mertens.
