The future of Parco Romani is still to be identified. For the mega abandoned building in the Sala district, the prospect, never officially revealed, of being transformed into an indoor “cemetery complex” now seems to have definitively disappeared. The structure would have hosted a real “supply chain” of the dearly departed: from niches to funeral shops, flowers and other services, probably also a crematorium.
For a few months at Palazzo De Nobili the proposal put forward by a company was evaluated. But as time passed, as explained by some municipal sources, the idea proved difficult to realise: on the one hand there would certainly have been a social impact to be managed, faced with the hypothesis of building a cemetery center precisely in that point of the city around which various interventions linked to intermodality are now rotating; on the other hand, adequate guarantees would not have arrived on the Municipality’s table, in economic terms, such as to offer a concrete horizon for the actual implementation of the intervention.
