The DDA of Reggio Calabria has closed the indictment in the proceedings arising from one of the strands of the maxi operation Millennium, making requests for sentences for a total of 391 years and 2 months of imprisonment against 47 defendants who chose the abbreviated trial. A conclusion that came after two dense hearings, during which the magistrates reviewed the key points of the investigation and the role attributed to the individuals involved.
Operation Millennium, launched in 2018, represents one of the largest and most complex investigative interventions against the ‘Ndrangheta in Reggio. He explored the three districts of the province, bringing to light a complex criminal system which today sees today’s defendants accused, in various capacities, of mafia association, drug trafficking, aiding and abetting, drug dealing, attempted extortion and other crimes. Among the offended parties identified in this section are the Ministry of the Interior, the Calabria Region and eight other individuals and companies.
