The Giochi villa in Ponte Schiavo was inaugurated this afternoon in Messina. Over a year ago it should have already been open to the public. However, the works had not been completed to perfection, the surface was uneven and on 2 February 2025 the flood brought mud and flooding which forced the administration to change course.
After the dispute and the change of company, the house was opened to the public. There is a play area for the little ones, a fitness area, and areas for snacks. But also a football field and a basketball hoop. In the future, the area that currently belongs to the metropolitan city could also be aggregated with a synthetic grass pitch that is very popular in these parts. The cost of the contract is just under 200 thousand euros. It is the only meeting and socializing space in the entire Santa Margherita area. Present at the inauguration were councilor Liana Cannata and city councilor Giuseppe Busa’.
