Odyssey is officially in the Olympus of takings of the Cinetel era in Italy: in its second weekend the Universal film grossed 10.6 million euros – even +6 percent compared to the last weekend of its debut – and reached a total of over 26.7 million (26,780) euros.
A record-breaking Sunday and the race abroad
It is an extraordinary result that demonstrates how Christopher Nolan’s film has brought good benefits to everyone, it has also improved its average per copy which has reached 17,169 euros in 620 cinemas thanks also to a record-breaking Sunday, with yesterday’s takings of 3,742,872 euros, the highest figure obtained by the film since its release. The race of Odyssey continues with very strong numbers even outside Italy. In the United States the film reached $286,371,800, equal to 44.8% of the worldwide total.
The best July ever in Italian cinemas
It is therefore an important moment for the history of cinema in Italian cinemas which recorded, with 43.5 million, the best July ever or at least since the Cinetel acquisition existed. The record was in 2011 with just over 42 million euros but with 400 thousand more spectators, 5.8 compared to the current 5.5 (but the month is not over yet).
Nolan’s colossal also drags on the annual data with all positive signs: +29 percent on 2025 and +33 percent on 2024, more or less the same as attendance, +21 and +24.
The rest of the podium: Minions and Toy Story
He confirms himself in second position Minions & Monstersalso distributed by Universal, which in its fourth weekend grossed 562,733 euros and recorded 71,064 admissions. The film loses 18% compared to the previous week, going from 465 to 399 cinemas, with an average of 1,410 euros. The updated total reaches 6,874,264 euros.
Completes the podium, in third position, Toy Story 5 by Walt Disney Italia, which collected 237,616 euros and 31,760 spectators. The Disney/Pixar film recorded an average of 846 euros in 281 cinemas, and brought its total to 8,903,724 euros.
The debuts and the rest of the Top 10
He debuts in fourth place Deep Water – Nightmare from the depthsdistributed by Notorious Pictures, with 223,182 euros, 34,310 admissions and an average of 809 euros. Fifth position for Family therapywhich debuts with 103,296 euros and an average of 463 euros.
The house: The pyre of evil (Eagle) drops from fourth to sixth place with 72,549 euros, down 58%, and reaches a total of 1,047,417 euros. Seventh place Blue (Piper), Eleonora Puglia’s debut film, with 68,206 euros and a total, including previews, of 80,014 euros. They follow At New Dawn (Adler), eighth with 36,513 euros, e Disclosure Day (Universal), ninth with 31,341 euros and a cumulative amount of 4,973,604 euros. The Top 10 closes The Devil Wears Prada 2 (Disney), which grows by 61% with 27,902 euros and reaches a total of 32,050,918 euros.
