Nicolò Martinenghi wins gold medal and Simone Cerasuolo bronze in the 100 breaststroke at the European Swimming Championships in Paris. The Lombard won in 58″58 ahead of the Russian Ivan Kozhakin (58″68) and the Romagna, who finished third after leading for three quarters of the race in 58″90. Sara Curtis was the bronze medalist in the 100 freestyle. The Italian finished in 52″72, behind the Dutch Marrit Steenbergen (51″90, championship record) and Milou Van Wijk by just one hundredth (52″71). Thomas Ceccon finishes fourth in the 50m butterfly at the European swimming championships in Paris. The Venetian swims in 22″72, just missing the podium by 4 hundredths, in the final won by the Russian Egor Kornev (22″52), also preceded by the Frenchman Maxime Grousset (22″54) and the Belarusian Pekarski (22″68).
