A serious bloody incident occurred last night in Zafferia. A man was seriously injured with several gunshots while he was on his way home. The man, VB, 31 years old, was taken to the Polyclinic where he was hospitalized and underwent a delicate operation.
The Carabinieri of the Southern Company are investigating the matter and throughout the night they carried out investigations, interviewed people and went in search of footage from video surveillance systems in the area. Precisely following the arrival of the 31-year-old in the emergency room, the investigations began by the police who carried out surveys near the Zafferia stream until late at night. Precisely in this area, around 8pm, the wounding occurred.
It seems that the man, a character already known to the police, was traveling along the municipal road in Zafferia riding a bicycle, probably on his way home. Suddenly the shots fired: at least seven gunshots were fired at him but only two hit him in the back, seriously wounding him. It is not yet clear whether it was just one person or more who acted. Whoever wounded him certainly approached and fired at him and then fled, losing track. In the meantime, the man was rescued and rushed to the nearby hospital where he was immediately treated.
