The commitment of the municipal administration of Casali del Manco continues in promoting the culture of legality, civil responsibility and conscious participation. The second appointment of the “Night of Legality” will be held on Friday 28 August, at 7.30 pm, at the “Enotrion” Amphitheater in the Spezzano Piccolo area, after the large participation recorded on the occasion of the meeting on 17 August with the Prosecutor Nicola Gratteri.

The protagonist of the evening will be Salvatore M. Curcio, Public Prosecutor at the Court of Catanzaro, who will dialogue with the journalist Arcangelo Badolati on the topic “Legality as an engine of growth: the future of Calabria”.

A comparison that intends to go beyond the story of the action to combat organized crime, to reflect on the profound link between legality, development, economic and social growth and the future of the new generations.

During the meeting, some of the most important themes for the present and future of Calabria will be addressed: the fight against the mafias, the role and credibility of the institutions, individual and collective responsibility, education in legality and the need to build a territory in which young people, families, citizens and businesses can plan their own future without conditioning, intimidation and oppression. The evening will open with institutional greetings from the Mayor of Casali del Manco, Francesca Pisani. The meeting will be introduced by Emma Orrico, City Councilor with responsibility for Legal and Institutional Affairs.

Particularly significant will be the presence of the Prefect of Cosenza, Dr. Rosa Maria Padovano, who will intervene during the initiative, offering an important institutional testimony on the value of legality, the presence of the State and collaboration between institutions.

«The Night of Legality represents an important opportunity for discussion and growth for our community – declares the Mayor Francesca Pisani -. We have chosen to talk about legality as an engine of growth because we are deeply convinced that there cannot be true development without respect for the rules, without credible institutions and without a community aware of its rights and duties. Legality is not an abstract concept and does not only concern magistrates and law enforcement agencies: it concerns each of us, our daily choices and the model of society we want to build. Investing in the culture of legality means above all investing in our young people and in the possibility that they can choose to live, work and build their future in Calabria.”

The appointment on 28 August therefore confirms the municipal administration’s desire to make culture and public discussion tools for community growth, bringing representatives of the institutions, the judiciary and the world of information to Casali del Manco to encourage direct dialogue with citizens and new generations.

A delegation from the National Association “City of the Holy Crucifix” will also take part in the evening, composed of Mayors and Ambassadors and led by President Giovanni Papasso and General Secretary Giuseppe Semeraro, who collaborated in the implementation of the “Night of Legality” initiatives.

At the end of the meeting, the appointment of Ambassador of the National Association “Città del SS. Crocifisso” will be given to the Prosecutor Salvatore M. Curcio, in recognition of his commitment to combating crime and mafias and for the constant attention paid to dialogue and discussion with young people, schools and families, in the wake of the values of the social doctrine of the Church and the testimony of Blessed Rosario Livatino.
