Since yesterday, Monday 17 August, the inclusive summer center “Estate per Tutti” officially began, promoted by the Vibosalus Social Cooperative as part of the “La mia Estate” – FNPS 2026 project, financed by the Social Territorial Area n. 3 of Spilinga.

The summer centre, which takes place at the Multifunctional Center of Briatico (SP 95, ex SS 522 for Tropea), granted on loan by the Municipal Administration of Briatico, will be held until 25 September and is dedicated to children and young people with disabilities aged between 6 and 19, residing in the municipalities of ATS n. 3 of Spilinga.

The project offers a wide range of free activities for families, thanks to the voucher made available by the National Social Policy Fund (FNPS). Activities include:

• Adapted sporting activities
• Creative and artistic workshops
• Educational outings
• Personalized educational services

The summer center will be managed by a team of qualified professionals and will guarantee maximum attention and safety to all participants who will accompany the children on a path aimed at real inclusion, the discovery of talents and the development of personal autonomy, in constant dialogue with the families.

The cornerstone of the initiative is the strong connection with the territory

On the program are:
• Integration into the community: Participation on August 20th in the “Let’s play together” evening in San Costantino di Briatico.
• Culture and nature: Educational trip on August 28th to the Sant’Irene area and the ancient Roman Murenarium, in collaboration with the APS Environment and Fishing Sant’Irene.
• Autonomy and the common good: Walks in the village, trips to the sea in beaches equipped with JOB chairs for full bathing accessibility, and flower planting activities in the green area in front of the center to educate about civic responsibility.

“We are happy to announce the start of this project, which represents a dream come true for our Cooperative,” declared Lucia Luzza, legal representative of the Vibosalus Social Cooperative, “We firmly believe that every child and young person, regardless of their condition, has the right to the same opportunities for play, socialization and growth. With ‘Summer for Everyone’ we want to offer families concrete support and our children an unforgettable summer.”

Convinced support also came from the Municipal Administration of Briatico. The Mayor, Dr. Lidio Vallone, underlined: “We are proud to support this important initiative. We are convinced that social inclusion is not just a word, but a daily commitment. With the concession of the Multifunctional Center for the summer centre, we wanted to give a signal of concrete attention towards the families of our territory and towards those children and young people who have the right to experience a peaceful summer full of opportunities”

Also the Social Territorial Area n. 3 from Spilinga expressed their satisfaction and support. The Head of the Planning Office, Dr. Pietro De Rito, declared: “The ‘Summer for All’ project represents a replicable model of social inclusion. The Social Territorial Area n. 3 of Spilinga firmly believes in the importance of guaranteeing all minors, regardless of their condition, the same opportunities for socialization and growth. This summer center is not just a service, but an investment in the future of our children.”

Finally, the Councilor for Social Policies of the Municipality of Briatico, Elena Staropoli, wanted to underline the value of the initiative: “This summer center is the demonstration that social policies can make a difference when they are transformed into concrete actions. As a Councillor, I am happy to see how the collaboration between institutions and the Third Sector can generate effective responses for families and precious opportunities for our children and young people.”
Finally, Project Coordinator Dr. Francesca Rombolà summarizes the spirit of the initiative: “True inclusion never happens indoors in a room, but immersed in the world. We want kids to learn to inhabit their own territory as protagonists, rediscovering the beauty of community life.”
